“It was a success trip. Our group and all of the other groups performed well on stage,” said Terry Hodge-Carty, Leader of The Better Band. Speaking at the Valley Community Christmas Tree stadium on Monday, he praised the eight members of the group for their performance in St. Kitts and was pleased that they were able to contribute to the New Year’s holiday musical event at the Trough in Anguilla as well.

Hodge said the International Night function in St. Kitts wrapped up the carnival activities there. There were six bands on the stage including his from Anguilla. The others were from Antigua, Trinidad, Guyana, and St. Kitts-Nevis.

“There were quite a number of Anguillians in attendance and even though it was short, with our playing time only 45 minutes, it was an enjoyable experience for all,” he reported. “We are looking forward to doing better and larger performances throughout the Caribbean. We are hoping that, like the New Caribbean Connection Tempo which is now on television, we too will get some footage.”

Hodge added that The Better Band was hoping to be part of the music festival in St. Kitts later this year.
