“We are very satisfied because we achieved our objective,” he told The Anguillian. “Our objective was really to get members of the business community together with one concept and in one location to promote and sell their goods and services.
“The turnout was good from the business side, but the Anguillians did not come out in the numbers we were hoping for. I think it takes time for them to get use to this type of activity. A lot of people want us to do it again, but we want to make something special once a year. We do not want to break it down by doing it every three months. The aim is once a year, a grand Christmas fair. We are very satisfied with the concept and the reaction from the business community.”

The fair was held on Saturday and Sunday, December 10 and 11, at the Caribbean Commercial Centre where some 30 booths and other display stalls were mounted and fully-stocked with various types of merchandise.
The fair included a fashion show, described by Mr. Bartlett as one of the best in Anguilla in recent times, and carol singing as well as entertainment. Two groups from St. Maarten gave much assistance to the event. They were representatives of Vidal Tropical Lighting who provided the stage lights for the fashion show and the carol singing, and the Soualouiga Marching Band.

Mr. Bartlett regretted that some of the activities were interrupted by rain but was grateful for the use of the nearby D3 Enterprises car port which provided sheltered and comfortable accommodation.
The Chamber’s hard-working Executive Director said the fair took a lot of planning, energy and time, but was a very satisfying and successful undertaking.
