BLUE JAYS TAKE HOME KNOCK-OUT CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE |

The “Clarence Fleming-Rogers Windball Cricket Knockout Tournament” ended on Saturday October 1st at the JRWP with three ten-overs-a-side matches.

In the female category, Force 2 Reckon With defeated the Pacers in the finals to win the knockout tournament following a number of years in second place.
Batting first, Force 2 Reckon With, scored 76 runs with Captain Katrina Richardson scoring a blistering 35 not out which included two fours and a six. Monique Proctor and Kara Hughes assisted with 14 not out and 8 respectively. In reply, the Pacers fell short by 43 runs, only mustering 33. Rosie Blade became the only Pacer to make it into double figures with 10. Carlyn Carty and Monique Proctor each took two wickets for Force 2 Reckon.
Top Hill Burners forfeited their points by not playing in the men’s semi finals. Razor Massive lost their semi final game to Point United, after batting first and scoring 39 for 3. John Khalenda top scored with 18 for the Razors. Greg Romney took 2 wickets for Point. At their turn to bat, Point United Scored 45 for 1 with Garvey Lake and Greg Romney hitting 25 and 18 respectively.
Point United then went on to be beaten by the Blue Jays in the finals. Blue Jays batted first and made 84 with Duquaine Brooks top scoring with 16 while John Jeffers made 15 and Montcin Hodge and Raymond Adams each scored 14. The Pointers then batted and made 76 with Greg Romney, Garvey Lake and Delon Skellekie each scoring 8.
Blue Jays were the final victors, taking home the Knockout Championship title.
The regular Windball Cricket Tournament, officially scheduled for Sunday, October 2nd, was cancelled due to heavy rains over the weekend.
Each team that was due to play was awarded 3 points, according to rules of the tournament.
The tournament will continue this weekend with matches at East End, Island Harbour and Junks Hole.
