Mrs. Denise Romney, who is one of the local Directors, explained the objective of the office here. “We feel that Century 21 will help Anguilla in this period of significant growth to provide an avenue that will expose our wonderful properties to a wider cross-section of the world.”
She said the office in Anguilla had brought the number of branches of the company around the world to 39 and hoped it would do “marvellous things for Anguilla.” She observed that Anguilla was a destination of choice within the Caribbean and Century 21 had recognised that the island possessed enormous potential.
Mrs. Romney was therefore of the view that the company was an opportunity to “facilitate transactions by providing an internationally-recognised name in real estate; and to advocate fair, professional real estate services that protect the rights of Anguillians.”
She said that the company would collaborate with other real estate agencies on the island to maintain high standards of practice. She added that the company’s full interactive educational system would enable agents and brokers to engage in discussion sessions on real industry and business-related topics anywhere in the world.
Caroline Janney, Mrs. Romney’s co-director gave some detailed background information on Century 21 and spoke about its high hopes in serving Anguilla.
The company’s Regional Director, Horst Finkbeiner, said there were over 6,700 Century21 offices around the world and that only very selective franchises were selected to join the company.
“We sincerely feel that your owners and associates of Century 21 have met that criteria. We are delighted to have you with us and sincerely hope that this will be a long and beneficial business relationship for us all,” he told the company’s personnel in Anguilla.
The opening ceremony was attended by Governor Alan Huckle and a large number of business persons in Anguilla and from abroad.
