Cable & Wireless Celebrates 33 Years Of Sterling Service To The People Of Anguilla

Cable & Wireless celebrated a double anniversary of service both to the people of Anguilla and Cable & Wireless customers throughout the region, on October 29, 2004.

The management and staff of Cable & Wireless Anguilla and the Regional Contact Centre would like to convey their gratitude to the people of Anguilla for allowing them the privilege of being able to serve them.

According to Chief Executive Sutcliffe Hodge, we are pleased with the level of support we have received over the years from the people and government of Anguilla. Additionally, the dedication and loyalty of all our staff over the years have been commendable, and I take this opportunity to publicly say ‘thank you’. It give me great pride to know that we have provided and continue to provide the level of service to our customers that they demand, and indeed deserve.

The last few years have been challenging ones in the global telecommunications market, and Anguilla has been no exception. Going forward it is expected that there will be more challenging and exciting times as the local telecommunications market begins to take its new shape in the recently liberalized environment.
On 29 October 1971 Cable & Wireless opened its doors for the first time to offer the people of Anguilla telecommunications service several years after the basic ‘Magneto’ telephone system was destroyed by Hurricane Janet in 1950. Exactly 30 years later, Anguilla was proud to be identified as the location of the Cable & Wireless Regional Contact Centre, which began serving customers on the 29 of October 2001.

Cable & Wireless Anguilla and the Cable & Wireless Regional Contact Centre stand ready and committed to continue delivering top quality telecommunication services to the people of Anguilla and the Region for many years to come.
