GETTING TO ANGUILLA THE EASY WAY!

Getting to Anguilla by flying into Sint Maarten's Princess Juliana Airport is not as bad as you might think. Follow the instructions below to have a hassle free journey to Anguilla and get a good glimpse of St. Maarten/St. Martin on the way.
The Anguilla Ferry runs everyday of the year from 7:30 AM until the last ferry leaves St. Martin at 7:00 PM.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE ON SINT MAARTEN:
Make your way to the arrival area with your passport ready to show immigration and the immigration form they gave you on the plane. You will then proceed into the luggage area. There is a restroom in the baggage area at the far end. After collecting your luggage go to the front of the airport where a number of taxis will be waiting to take you to the Marigot Ferry Port. It is about a 15 minute taxi drive costs $15.00 US.(prices change)
AT THE FERRY PORT IN MARIGOT:
Marigot has a new ferry port building. Gare Maritime Go to the Check in window and the attendant will fill out the information required on the ferry manifest. Give him your passport and make sure he returns it to you. He will give you a boarding pass.
The name of the ferry will appear on the boarding pass.
Then go to the tax window and pay the departure tax, currently $5.00US Prices change according to current rate.
Immigration officials may ask to see your boarding pass and tax slip. They will collect them before you board the ferry.
Wait in the departure lounge until the port attendant collects your boarding pass.
There is a food counter with cold beverages and a rest room.
The ferry crew will help you with your luggage.
The last day ferry leaves the port at 7:00 PM.
The ferry trip takes approximately 20 minutes. During the journey a crew member will ask for the ferry fee of $15.00 US per person . He will also give you an Anguilla immigration slip to fill out for immigration.
When you arrive at the Blowing Point Ferry port wait for the crew to remove your luggage. There will be a porter to help you if you require it. Note: If you use the porter to carry your bags he will expect a fee, ususally $2.00 depending on the amount of luggage.
Anguilla Immigration Policy
All visitors entering Anguilla must present a valid passport including citizens of the United States of America. You must also have a passport to pass immigration into French St. Martin.

Proceed to the port building and wait in line with your passport and immigration slip. KEEP your immigration slip, you will need it for departure from Anguilla. The immigration officer will inspect your passport and then you can proceed to the customs counter where the officer may ask you the contents of your bags and if you have anything to declare. Normally visitors have nothing to declare unless they are bringing a gift for someone on the island.
Note: Anguilla immigration officers and customs officials are very pleasant and may ask you to open your bag for inspection. Cooperation will speed you on your way.
Proceed out the automatic door where a number of taxi drivers will be waiting to take you to your hotel or villa on Anguilla. Prices vary according to distance from the port.
Current Taxi Rates Make sure to ask the driver the total amount to your destination including extra passengers and luggage.
SHUTTLE FROM AIRPORT If you would rather take a shuttle from the airport or you will arrive to late to catch the last ferry at 7:00 PM consider a shuttle.

Departure from Anguilla
Allow yourself plenty of time to reach St. Martin when you are departing.
The ferries run every half hour all day from 7:30 AM until 6:15 PM.
The Blowing Point ferry port now has security checks. When you arrive give the clerk your passport so she can include you on the manifest. The ferry name will be listed on the wall behind her desk. She will give you a boarding pass with the name of the ferry listed.
Next pay your departure tax at the booth.
EC$53.00 or US$20.00 ADULT
EC$26.50 or US$10.00 CHILD
Proceed to the check in point where a security officer will inspect your luggage and allow you to enter the departure area where there is limited seating. The Immigration officer will announce when your ferry is ready to board and you can proceed to the depature door where she will collect your boarding pass. Present your tax slip at this time.
Next proceed to the dock and board your ferry. Crew members will assist you with your luggage.
During the 20 minute trip a crew member will collect the ferry fee of $15.00 per person.
When you arrive at the port an immigration officer will ask to see your passport.


In Marigot


Once you arrive in Marigot there is still a 15 minute taxi ride to Princess Juliana International airport. Allow time for traffic, the road from Marigot to the airport is often crowded. Taxi drivers will be waiting at the ferry port to offer you a ride. It's about $15.00 to the airport.

At the airport after check-in pay your departure tax at the tax window in the main terminal unless your departure tax is included in the price of your ticket. The fee is $30.00 US. in St. Maarten.
