The ten-week course, which will conclude on November 27, will focus on such areas as personal financial planning, debt management, risk management strategies and trading on the securities market. The knowledge and skills that will be acquired are expected to translate into positive outcomes not only for the students, but also for the island and the region on a whole.
The course, to be held every Thursday, will assist participants in developing basic budgetary skills, improve their money management skills and enable them to learn the fundamentals of investing.
There will be a registration fee of EC$150 per person who may register at the University Centre School of Continuing Studies at the Queen Elizabeth Highway, Pope Hill. The contact persons there are Mrs. Carla Harris-Pascal or Mrs. Arlene Browne- Richardson.
The delivery of the course is being made possible through the successful fostering of partnerships involving the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, the University of the West Indies, the Community College Developing Unit and local financial institutions.
To date, eighty-nine persons have successfully completed the course since its commencement in Anguilla in April 2007.
