The five outstanding agents mentioned above were Sabrina Carter, Menelva Romney, Christine Fleming, Nisha Charles and City Liquors. They have just started the top up business and are doing very well.
Cable & Wireless’ Acting Chief Executive in Anguilla, Christonie Fleming, said the top up agents represented a new telecommunications avenue for the company. “We have noticed that this is a very important line of customers and we want you to know how important you are to us,” he told the some 90 agents in attendance. “We have brought you together to talk among yourselves and to learn the new things that we are bringing to you and everything we are doing to enhance your business. In essence this is an integral part of your business and we want to show you how you can grow this part of your business and make it a very big revenue generator.”

Lester Forman, Vice President Sales & Mobile, said that unlike the previous event for the top up agents, Cable & Wireless had now brought to Anguilla two of its vendor partners: Lavonne Straley from the company MoreMagic in Atlanta and Martyn Fricker from Emida, based in Fort Lauderdale. Both of them assisted in distributing special awards to the top up agents.
He told the agents that the company had recently launched a new product – pre-paid Blackberry which he said was very relevant to the agents’ businesses where customers would be going to top up their operating cards.
The presentation ceremony was chaired by Karen Pina, Manager of Partner Sales, working with the Cable and Wireless top up agents. “The sky is the limit with selling and anyone of you can be the number one seller for Cable and Wireless,” she told them.
