Also on hand was the Honourable Attorney General of Anguilla Mr. Wilhelm Bourne. His role is vital to combat one of the main issues confronting every jurisdiction; money laundering. He has pledged to work hard to make sure that Anguilla remains a well regulated jurisdiction. Anguilla has enjoyed an impeccable reputation in the Caribbean as being on the forefront of the financial services industry. Anguilla’s Commercial Online Registration Network (ACORN) is celebrating ten years this year of outstanding service. This top notch online system is second to none in the other territories and with the help of Mr. Wilson and the other members of the financial services staff, that reputation will remain steadfast. Mr. Wilson also recognised that one of the main reasons Anguilla has enjoyed such a great reputation is because of the hard work of the Minister of Finance, The Honourable Mr. Victor Banks. Mr. Banks has publicly said that at ten years of successful work, it is now time for reflection on our financial services. He mentioned that the Ministry is currently researching new ways to improve the ACORN system so that Anguilla can remain number one.
