Arthur Ward Jumps A Personal Best

Last weekend Arthur Ward and Denvil Ruan traveled to Puerto Rico to compete in the Caribbean Scholastic Invitational at the Carolina Track and Filed Stadium. Arthur competed in the triple jump and Denvil competed in the long jump and 100meter dash.

Both athletes accredited themselves well as they both achieved personal best records. In the triple jump Arthur achieved a second place position with a leap of 14.23meters, surpassing his previous best by almost 2 meters. In the 100meter dash, Denvil also ran a personal best of 11.51 seconds, shaving off more than 3/10ths of a second from his previous best. In the long jump Denvil jumped 6.72 meters earning him fourth place overall.

Denvil will be in action again next weekend at the British Virgin Islands Invitational, after which he will be going to Poland to compete in the World Junior Championships. Arthur will continue his training to improve on his personal best at the Leeward Island Junior Championships, which will be held in the BVI at the end of June.
