TROPICAL FLOWER HOLDS WINE TASTING FUNCTION |
Tropical Flower, Anguilla’s leading supplier of wines and liqueurs, held a wine-tasting function at CuisinArt Resort & Spa on Tuesday November 5 in association with Beringer Blass Wine Estates of California represented by William J. Jenkins, Jr.
Jenkins and one of his partners are travelling through the Caribbean highlighting the wineries and products of various parts of California. He met Willis Hodge, Manager of Tropical Flower, at a duty-free trade show in Orlando, Florida, several years ago and his winery eventually struck a business deal with the Anguillian-owned company and became a wholesale supplier of various wines.
“We always want our wines showcased in the places where the most elegant, sophisticated travelers go. Certainly your country qualifies for that with some of the best resorts have seen and we want those people to have special moments in your country with our wines,” Mr Jenkins told The Anguillian.
Willis Hodge commented that this should be a good tourist season in Anguilla and the wine business should be very strong. “When Mr. Jenkins first met me he told me that Anguilla can fit in their pattern and a place where they wanted to go… Beringer Blass is rated by analysts as one of the leading wine companies in the United States,” he said.
