Many people may not be aware of the fact that Anguilla’s Contact Centre employs 46 people and services islands such as St. Kitts and Nevis, Antigua, Montserrat, St. Lucia, Dominica, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the BVI, Turks and Caicos Islands, the Cayman Islands and Jamaica. The Centre handles fault reporting, directory assistance (both regionally and internationally) as well as billing for all phone and internet services. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and boasts of state of the art communications equipment.

Marie Nembhard, the Contact Centre manager, informed The Anguillian that this week would be full of activities to honour the employees for their years of dedicated service. There will be marathons, picnics and a staff social in which barbecue will be served. Recently, four school leavers joined the team and are currently undergoing training. Six years ago, on October 29th, the Centre opened and it has been getting larger every year. With the increase in telecommunication needs worldwide, Cable and Wireless is committed to enhancing its services.
