Dear Mr. Richardson

Re: Education Bill 2011

I refer to the above captioned.

You have stated your opposition to the Education Bill 2011 in clear and unequivocal terms, as recently as 8th September, 2011 in Executive Council. I pointed out to you in the presence of the Honourable Chief Minister, Mr. Hubert Hughes, that the only alternative now open to me was to communicate to you by way of letter.

A Ship Run Horribly Aground

On the very popular Mayor Show, a team of Anguillian-born experts, including Conrad Rogers, Tyrone Hodge and Clive Gumbs, found it imperative and entertaining to re-visit my letter of July 1, 2011 to CM Hubert Hughes. They read, analyzed and debated it so that the Anguillian people would have a clear understanding of my proposal for how potential millions could be made for this island.

REFERENCE: FALSE ACCUSATIONS IN THE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY REGARDING HONOURABLE OTHLYN VANTERPOOL

On Monday, 17th October 2011 in the House of Assembly, you stated the following:

“The Member for Island Harbour in particular, Madam Speaker. He continues to go out there on the platform and insinuate that me have shares in a particular boat business in Anguilla. And today, not only has that gentleman’s boats have been burnt and burnt in his house, but people have fired shots at him. It is all because of the words that emanated from the Member for Island Harbour.

Dear Sir,

Mr Fahie in his article on Tax Reform focuses on the politicizing of government actions with respect to the need for taxes in the current environment. Political parties that often criticize other political parties, generally do so with an agenda to get elected, amongst other things. Once elected, their earlier positions of criticisms may change and even be reversed to accommodate changing circumstances. All of Mr. Fahie's views need to be viewed and judged in the light of these changing circumstances.

Dear Editor,

I am writing this letter to thank the “Very Concerned Business Owner” for the letter in The Anguillian of 30 September. This person must be commended for the letter because it made us aware that filings must be made for any income of a person who is self-employed or who provides a service whatever the income may be. The penalty for not doing so is $50 per day or $2000 for each complete month of late filing.

Public Parking in Anguilla

Dear Editor,

Public Parking in Anguilla

Anguillians seem to believe that because you are a Manager or Deputy Manager you are entitled to preferential parking privilegesin government or private parking lots. Most of the general public seem to accept this practice as something carved in stone and stoically become second class citizens in their own land all the while ‘grumbling among themselves’. In only one instance, that I am aware of, this practice was questioned by a member of the public. The event occurred sometime ago when the Bank of Nova Scotia (a private enterprise) was located in George Hill.

Dear Sir:

“…ANGUILLA SAID TO HAVE LOST $18 MILLION"

There has been some talk about the above matter which recently appeared in the public domain via the internet and in the print media. It all springs from a statement the Governor is reported to have made to the Executive Council early in September in which he said the lost money resulted from an unauthorised MOU.

Dear Trainers/Coaches:

The recent 13 and Under Cricket Tournament concluded just over a week ago in St. Kitts. Previously, the tournament lasted two weeks, but this year it lasted only one week because several other islands seemingly found it financially difficult to send a team, or perhaps did not have a team which they thought was ready for inter-island competition.
