Police Report: Nineteen Crimes For The Week
 

Criminal activities during the period July 15 to 22 totaled a staggering 19 including seven thefts and four burglaries.
The thefts occurred in North Valley, Welches, South Hill, Wallblake, The Quarter and The Valley. Items stolen included gas cylinder fittings, a data map, a Black Berry and a Motorola cell phone.

Continuing the tradition of giving, the Caribbean Alumni for Regional Progress (CARP) presented two children from the Island Harbour Primary School with two scholarships to be used for the purchase of school books and supplies. Mr. Lajace Fleming and Ms. Shedicia Flemming were presented with $525.00 each by Mrs. Zenna Panthia. The students and their parents/guardians were very delighted about receiving the funds which will be used for obtaining school supplies.

Fire Truck Overturns On Rescue Mission

One of Anguilla's fire trucks overturned in the Little Dix area on Tuesday, while travelling to Shoal Bay Road, where the occupants of a jeep, reportedly driven by a female motorist, were trapped inside after the jeep had crashed into a utility pole. The fire truck was on its way to rescue them.

Community Foundation Presents Several Grants To Worthy Causes

As part of the 10th anniversary of the Anguilla Community Foundation, several grants were presented on Friday July 10. Chairman of the Board, Bonnie Richardson-Lake, explained that it is the first time that grants were given from the Endowment Fund but that it has now reached over US$600,000 so the interest can be used. She said that several requests were made and the Board decided to focus on youth in choosing the awardees.
