Rock Farm, 3January, 2011 – Caribbean Cable Communications has just topped off a month of prize-giving in connection with its December high-speed Internet promotion. The company put a radiant smile on the face of Sean Richards after he got the ‘luck of the draw’ and was awarded the grand prize of a new laptop computer. The Grand Finale raffle was held at the company’s office in Rock Farm on December 30, 2011 and was the climax of a series of drawings for the month of December in which Caribbean Cable handed out prizes including account credits, free services and T-shirts.

On Friday, December 16, 2011, Chief Minister and Minister of Minister of Finance, Economic Development, Investment, Commerce and Tourism, the Hon. Hubert Hughes, delivered the 2012 Budget Address to the Anguilla House of Assembly.
The 2012 budget is estimated at EC 183.51 million dollars in Recurrent Expenditure and EC 187.65 million in Recurrent Expenditure.

The Royal Anguilla Police Force will observe its Fortieth Anniversary during the period Sunday, January 22, to Saturday, 28, 2012. The programme of activities, to be chaired by Inspector Marva Brooks, will commence with a divine service at Bethel Methodist Church at South Hill. Members of the Voluntary Korps Service of St. Martin will join the Anguilla Police Officers at the service.

Some seventy two students from the six governmentrun primary schools in Anguilla were the recipients of gifts from a 12th time repeat visitor/tourist to Anguilla at a cocktail ceremony held on the grounds of the Anacaona Boutique Hotel in Meads Bay last Wednesday December 21st, 2011. Also receiving gifts were twenty students from the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School.

Social Security Staff Continue To Give At Christmas

Members of staff of the Anguilla Social Security Office have continued their tradition of giving at Christmas time. A group of staff members have put aside monies over the past months to bring some Christmas cheer to some of the less fortunate in our community. The staff contributed funds totaling over EC$700.00 to purchase food items for three families who were recommended by the Department of Social Development and Ministers of Religion. |
