A new service in the exceptional cuisine, and fine dining, Anguilla has become known for, is being further enhanced with the introduction of a Mexican Restaurant on the Stoney Ground Main Road.

CuisinArt Resort and Spa has donated US$1,000 to the Literary and Debating Society of the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School.

All roads lead to the Wallblake House and grounds, on Saturday and Sunday February 26 and 27, where the annual Flower and Garden Show, organized by the Anguilla Beautification Club (ABC) takes place. This year’s theme is “Floral Fantasy” and, as in past years, Wallblake House and garden are expected to be a riot of colour. There will also be plenty of other attractions including the sale of art and craft, plants, garden equipment, books, food and drink.

Bankie Banx will welcome Black Uhuru, Alaine, Orange Grove, Tahirah Banks, Ruffy, DJ Jazzy Jay, along with Moonsplash Allstars Cat Coore, Benjy Myaz and Junior Jazz. This year’s festival will run from Thursday March 17 through Sunday March 20.

Six members of the Literary and Debating Society of the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School are competing this weekend in the Leeward Islands Debating Competition in Tortola.

The Caribbean Commercial Bank has fulfilled an agreed commitment to substantially support the Literary and Debating Society of the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School to assist in the continued development of its skills so that it could be a keen competitor in the annual Leeward Islands Debating Competition.

Newly-established, Tropical Treats, a developing ice cream business on the Stoney Ground Road, has donated US$250 to the Debating Team of the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School, ahead of their participation in the Leeward Islands Debating Competition.

On February 8, Sheridan Sutton of The Forest pleaded guilty of driving an unlicensed vehicle and was fined $1,500.00; driving without a valid Driver’s License $800.00; fraudulent use of a registration number $800.00; driving an unregistered vehicle $800.00; dangerous $2,500.00; driving without being covered by a Policy of Insurance $3,200.00; fraudulent use of a license sticker $800.00.

The story surrounding Minister of Home Affairs, Labour and Immigration, Walcott Richardson, in which Governor Alistair Harrison said he had concerns about him, mushroomed in a protest march on Wednesday to the Governor’s Office. The demonstration was principally staged by members of Mr. Richardson’s West End/Long Bay constituency, but with support from persons from other electoral districts.

A Multipurpose Unit has been commissioned at the Vivien Vanterpool Primary School at Island Harbour. Among other facilities, it provides for a reception area, library, movie and remedial reading areas, sections for guidance counselling speech therapy, a sick bay and accommodation for a school/health nurse and sick bay.

Anguilla has lost one of its family matriarchs. She is Mrs. Ann Pauline Hughes better know to everyone as “Nanny’. She died at her home in South Hill surrounded by her immediate family on 7th February 2011 at the age of 87years.

As the members of the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School Literary and Debating Society continue their preparations for the 39th Annual Leeward Islands Debating Competition, Cap Juluca has once again demonstrated its support for Club. General Manager of Cap Juluca, Gary Thulander, on Tuesday handed over the resort’s annual donation check of US$500.00 to President Nzingha Banks and Secretary Kenelva Brooks.
