From small beginnings, this idea has grown to become a widely-recognised way of celebrating women around the world. While some people use it to remember the great social and political strides made both by and for women in the last hundred years, there is no right and wrong approach.

SPECIAL NEEDS WEEK CELEBRATED IN ANGUILLA

Schools in Anguilla took off time to celebrate Special Needs Week with a varied programme of activities which began on Monday, March 14, Commonwealth Day.
The activities included Church Services, in-house programmes and a field day at the Department of Infrastructure. There was a special assembly, at the Adrian T. Hazell Primary School Auditorium on Tuesday, of all children involved in the activities as well as teachers from various schools.

It has been identified as a potential major revenue source in the three-year plan whereby the Government of Anguilla is scheduled to return to a balanced budget by 2013, according to Dr. Wycliffe Fahie.

This followed a statement by the Police that they were carrying out investigations in connection with the formation of the so called “Devil Over Christ” (D.O.C.) group involving children bent on criminal activities.
