Culinary Team Fundraiser A Great Success

Several restaurants on the island joined together for the Culinary Team fundraiser held at Aleta Restaurant, Viceroy, on Thursday April 28. Each participating restaurant occupied one of the cabanas around the pool and offered delicious and tasty samples from their menus. It was a perfect setting around the pool where guests felt relaxed as they enjoyed the food and the margaritas supplied by Picante Restaurant. The event was held to raise funds for the Culinary Team planning to attend the Taste of the Caribbean Competition in Miami next month. Several of the team members were present.

Premiers and Chief Ministers from the Overseas Territories in the Caribbean, and Bermuda, have undertaken to attend the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton at Westminster Abbey in London this Friday, April 29. They will also be among leaders of other British territories and dependencies elsewhere, but Anguilla’s Chief Minister, Hubert Hughes, will not be among them.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Soroptimist Club was held on Tuesday April 26 when the presidency was handed over from Blondell Rodgiers to Olive Hodge. Outgoing President Blondell stressed the need to work together and the need for action from members. “We can only be successful if we work together,” she noted. “Soroptimism is all about professionalism, sharing ideas and achieving goals.”
