It is that time again when our attention is focused on mothers. What better time for us to stop, reflect and pay homage to our mothers whether they are with us or not. It is also fitting that we take a look at some of the mothers in the Bible to see what we can learn from them in the performance of our duties, so that we may pattern our lives after them as we influence the lives of our children.

the 41st anniversary of Earth Day was celebrated on April 22nd. According to Earth Day Facts, “April 22nd is set aside to honor Earth Day [each year]. But every day is Earth Day.” The intent of Earth Day is to bring awareness and appreciation towards the Earth’s natural environment. The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Soroptimist Club was held on Tuesday April 26 when the presidency was handed over from Blondell Rodgiers to Olive Hodge. Outgoing President Blondell stressed the need to work together and the need for action from members. “We can only be successful if we work together,” she noted. “Soroptimism is all about professionalism, sharing ideas and achieving goals.”
